Lightweight and easy to drape, the saree allows free movement during long practice sessions while maintaining a graceful fall. The fabric absorbs sweat well, making it ideal for daily rehearsals. with classic Kanchi borders, it reflects timeless tradition with practical functionality
The modest looms in the Andhra town of Mangalgiri produce a distinct style of fabric with high thread density per square inch, ranging from 40 (coarse) to 120 (superfine), sometimes more. The characteristic hand-embroidered zari is reminiscent of the nizam influence.
The Ragamalika collection features beautifully handwoven sarees using the warp-weft technique, with 100% cotton and silk threads. These are woven by hand, to produce the finest fabrics that have an excellent fall, sheen and color.
A skilled weaver coming from traditional families takes 2 full days to weave one practice saree.
